Past International President Frank Moore IIISaturday, April 27, 2024Dinner

J. Frank Moore III, of Daleville, Alabama, was elected as international president at the 2001 convention in Indianapolis.  Past President Moore is an educator by profession and a former superintendent of education for the Daleville City Schools in Daleville, Alabama. Past President Moore has held key leadership positions in Lions International including the office of Executive Administrator and Secretary of the association from 2017-2021. He served as chairperson of the Centennial Action Committee, as LCIF vice chairperson of Campaign SightFirst II, and as vice chairperson of Campaign 100—the most successful fundraising initiative in the history of the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Past President Moore has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the association, including the Friends of Humanity Award presented by LCIF and the Ambassador of Good Will Award.  Past President Moore is an LCIF Humanitarian Partner. In addition to his Lions activities, he is a member of the Army Aviation Museum Foundation Board of Directors, the Friends of Fort Novosel, a lay speaker in the Methodist Church, and a former chief executive officer of the Association of the United States Army. Past President Moore and wife, Rita, also a Lion and progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two daughters and a son—who also are Lions—and seven grandchildren.

Katie Stam-Irk, Miss America 2009Saturday, April 27, 2024Luncheon 

Katie Stam was born in Seymour and raised on a dairy farm there showing dairy cattle in 4-H at the Jackson County Fair.  She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Indianapolis in communication studies and interned at WTHR – TV in Indianapolis.  She began competing in pageants at age 15 and later won Indiana’s Junior Miss in 2005, Miss Indiana in 2008, and Miss America in 2009.  Her pageant social platform was “Passion for Service:  Promoting Community Service and Involvement”.  She traveled extensively during her year promoting community service and was named the National Goodwill Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network.  Miss Stam is married to Brian Irk and has three children.
